Build foundations
Clear objectives, progressive sport training and constructive feedback for dogs and handlers.

£150 · Approximately 60 minutes
Mobile assessment at a suitable location across the Wirral and surrounding areas.
When advice conflicts or daily life with your dog feels difficult, the first step is understanding what is happening. Your assessment gives us time to discuss your dog, your goals and the training priorities before recommending a programme.
The £150 assessment fee is deducted from an eligible prescribed training package if you go ahead. Arrange your credit with TTB before purchasing the package.
We discuss your dog’s history, the challenges you face and what you want to achieve. We assess your dog and relevant handling, identify training and management priorities, and establish a practical training strategy.
Tell us about previous training, triggers, your home routine and any health, injury or handling concerns. This context helps us make an individual recommendation rather than fitting your dog into a generic programme. There is time to discuss your questions and next steps.
A clearer understanding of your training priorities, a practical strategy and a recommendation for the appropriate route. You do not need to diagnose your dog or choose a package before the assessment. We explain the recommendation in relation to your dog and goals.
The same outward behaviour can need a different approach in different dogs. Relevant history, temperament, motivation, lifestyle, previous training and safety concerns all matter. Assessment helps identify a sensible starting point. It is not a promise of an immediate transformation.
Why does it cost £150?
It is a dedicated 60-minute professional assessment: time to understand the dog, identify priorities and recommend a practical training route.
Is the fee credited against a programme?
Yes. One verified £150 assessment payment is credited against an eligible prescribed package. TTB arranges the credit before your package purchase.
Can you assess reactive or aggressive dogs?
TTB offers support for reactivity and aggression. Disclose bite history and handling concerns in the booking form so suitability and safety can be considered.
Which programme will I need?
The assessment guides that decision. Foundations provides six 1:1 sessions over approximately six weeks; Transformation provides twelve over approximately twelve weeks. More complex or interconnected goals may need a longer progression.
What should I bring, and can family attend?
Contact TTB before your appointment to confirm suitable equipment and who should attend for your dog’s assessment.
What happens afterwards?
We explain the recommended next step. If you proceed, your programme develops the agreed priorities through coaching and practice. Progress depends on the dog, circumstances and work between sessions; results are not guaranteed.
“He demonstrated practically how Toby's various problems could be resolved.”

PSA — Protection Sports Association — combines obedience and controlled protection in a competitive dog sport.
Dog-and-handler teams work through increasingly demanding scenarios. Training develops clear communication, commitment and control, with the trial field as a shared goal.
Art of the Bite is a dedicated PSA club within TTB Dog Training. We work on the dog, the handling and the decoy skills that help a competitive team move forward.
Clear objectives, progressive sport training and constructive feedback for dogs and handlers.
